Simplex® Aerospace Announces New STC for R66 Agricultural Spray System

Simplex® Aerospace announced today it has received FAA STC SR02629SE for their latest agricultural spray system for the Robinson R66 helicopter. The spray system, Simplex® Aerospace Model 266, is a next generation spray system integrating several of Simplex® Aerospace's newly developed agricultural spray technologies including new composite techniques and carbon-fiber booms. Simplex is the sole U.S. producer of the FAA STC'd spray systems for the Robinson R66.

The new STC approved spray system will hold an industry leading 130 gallons of fluid. Additionally, The Simplex® Aerospace Model 266 system is certified for night operations, has emergency dump doors, and can be installed in approximately 15 minutes after initial provisioning. The new generation booms are forward mounted 100% RD carbon-fiber booms measuring 33ft (10m) maximizing swath-width. The new Model 266 also features dual sided fill ports that are in the pilot's field of view. Approved aircraft speed with the spray system installed is 103 knots. Similar platforms can be found on agricultural equipment wholesalers, such as fastline, but this model is yet to hit the market.
