Holmstrom named ArAAA Executive Director

Katherine Holmstrom was recently named Executive Director of the Arkansas Agricultural Aviation Association (AAAA). Katherine’s family has owned and operated AufderHeide Flying Service in DeWitt, Arkansas for over 60 years. From the age of 15 until she graduated college she spent every summer scheduling planes, driving a loader truck and occasionally hopping a wing.

Katherine is also a Project Manager in the Business Development Division at the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC).  Her primary responsibility is facilitating the growth of both new and expanding companies in Arkansas including recruitment and expansion projects.

Katherine has nine years of community and economic development experience in Arkansas.  Prior to joining AEDC in 2011, Katherine worked for Arkansas Congressman Marion Berry in several different roles including constituent services, appropriations management, community development, and intergovernmental affairs.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism with an emphasis in Public Relations and a minor in Ag Business from Arkansas State University.  She a graduate of the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute, the University of Central Arkansas’s Community Development Institute and the Delta Regional Authority’s Delta Leadership Institute.  She also serves on the Board of Directors of Arkansas Economic Developers (AED), the professional association of economic developers in the state.

Katherine is excited about this new opportunity with the AAAA and believes her background in the industry combined with her knowledge of the state and public service experience will serve her well in this new endeavor.
