Insero AgPilotX

What is AgPilotX?

AgPilotX is a GPS/GNSS Guidance System that was designed by Insero with two goals: 1) simple installation 2) ease of use. With only 3 components – Lightbar, Hub and iPad, it can be installed in a few hours.

A few facts about AgPilotX:

Only 3 components
GPS/GNSS Antenna integrated into the Lightbar
Wireless – uses both Bluetooth 5.0 and Wi-Fi technology
Cables can be cut for custom fit – no excess/looped wiring
GNSS receiver uses GLONASS which doubles the number of satellites and reduces/eliminates Lightbar jumping
Features integrated background imagery of the entire planet
Total system weight is under 12 lbs (including cables)
Lightweight Helicopter Lightbar reduces system weight to under 8 lbs
Email logs directly from the aircraft
All software updates done over the air
Entire system driven by any Apple device – iPad or iPhone – free App available on the Apple App store
To add Flow Control to AgPilotX, simply plug any meter and valve directly into the Hub.

AgPilotX’s Calling Card – Ease of Use

One of the most appealing features of AgPilotX is the ease at which a pilot can learn to use it. Running as an Apple App makes it extremely user friendly. And with all the features accessible with simple screen taps, it can be learned in a matter of minutes. Most pilots, young and old, say they learned to use the system on the way to the field. And with background imagery a standard part of the system, the situational awareness that the AgPilotX app offers makes the guidance system second to none.

Insero introduced the AgPilotX Guidance System in the 2018 season. There are now over 600 systems in the field. 2022 will be season number 5 for the product, which has been steadily adding features over the years.

AgPilotX in 2021 and What’s Coming for 2022?

In 2021, Insero introduced its cloud API, allowing the AgPilotX to communicate directly with partners such as AgSync (from Raven). As a result, work orders can be created in AgSync and sent directly to the AgPilotX on-the-fly. In turn, the logs are automatically sent back to AgSync instantaneously upon completion of the Job. This feature allows the office and the pilot to save time by automatically moving data back and forth without using external devices (such as USB sticks) or using confusing processes that require additional equipment (like USB modems). And because the Apple device is already connected to the cloud, there are no complicated setup processes – just a simple login – to get connected and automatically move work orders and jobs back and forth.

Insero also introduced Real-time tracking in 2021. All data can now be passed to the cloud as the aircraft is flying with a simple one-time login on the AgPilotX app. The office and ground crew can know the whereabouts of any aircraft by simply logging into Insero’s site at www.AgHippo.com.

Insero will be displaying its variable rate capability for both the Air Repair Dry Gate and the Reabe Gate at the show in Savannah, GA in Dec 2021. There will also be additional helicopter features for its specialized helicopter app, HeliX, which was created to serve the growing helicopter market.

In 2022, AgPilotX will be working closely with third party groups such as Reabe Air and ChemMan. The Reabe Gate now interfaces with AgPilotX and Reabe Air continues to work towards unique solutions for the ag market. ChemMan will be adding their API next year and interfacing directly with the AgPilotX for instant and automatic data exchange of work orders and logs.
