Reabe Aircraft Improvement has been granted STC SR4183CH for the installation of the Reabe Hopper Quantity Indication System into the Bell 206B Jet Ranger when equipped with the Isolar belly tank. The system has been flying as a prototype for three years and shares most of the components of the airplane system. The system works very similar to the airplane system but the helicopter is unique because of its long shallow rank and the pitch attitude changes the helicopter sees. The system design senses and corrects for the pitch changes, thereby providing the pilot and loader with accurate information. We had hoped to introduce the system at Long Beach but the STC process took six months longer than planned. We are working to develop systems for other belly-tanked helicopters as quickly as we can.
