Kane County Aerial Applicator Complaints Countered with Positive PR

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office says they have received multiple complaints about local ag applicators over the past week, according to a post on their Facebook page. They say that while rural residents may be temporarily inconvenienced with the noise of the aircraft, their function is positive for local farmers.

Ag applicators, more commonly called crop dusters, are hired by local farmers to spray their fields and help with pest control. The pilots of these aircraft are highly trained and operate efficiently to keep costs down and keep flight operations as brief as possible. The sheriff’s office says there are certain risks that can occur, like spray drift and accidents, but the pilots are given a wide latitude to operate with and assure public safety at all times.
