As we arrive in Orlando for the 2019 NAAA Ag Expo, we do so in the midst of an impressive milestone. Founded in 1949 by Richard “Dick” Reade only a few years removed from serving as a reconnaissance pilot over the Pacific during World War II, Mid-Continent Aircraft Corporation celebrates its 70th anniversary.
With our base in the rural Missouri Bootheel town of Hayti, Mid-Continent sits in close proximity to agriculture, a backbone of the American economy. This is a strength that allows us to keep our finger on the pulse of an important component of our nation’s well-being as we maintain our own spray operation which serves large swaths of the country.
In the ensuing years, Mid-Continent began to branch out in other areas of the aviation industry. In addition to aircraft sales, parts, and GPS divisions, we have become a certified FAA repair station. In 1965 we founded our own insurance agency which serves clients from coast to coast. More recently, we added satellite locations in Estherwood, LA and Potomac, IL to offer our products and services to an ever wider customer base.
While continuing to be a leader in the aviation industry some seven decades after our founding, we also take time to reflect on how far we have come while never forgetting the words on our company seal, words that are a reminder of what will carry us another 70 years and beyond: service, knowledge, integrity, experience.
