Reabe Aircraft Improvement (Reabe AI) announced its launch of the new 7½” Reabe Smart Gate. The design and software of the 7½” Reabe Smart gate is nearly identical to the newly STC certified 5” Reabe Smart Gate. It retains all of the features that our customers appreciate from the 5” model; however, slight mechanical modifications were made to increase the force for a 7½” gate box. The 7½” Reabe Smart Gate retains the same durability and light weight, at 35lb, obtains a 5.5-inch gate opening, and runs constant and variable rate application. The system interfaces with all major GPS units. The simplicity of the electric system, 4 components and wiring, limits maintenance and installation time. The new model has been successfully flight tested during the 2020 season with accuracy and dependability. This is great news as Reabe AI can now serve operators that require heavy application with a 7½” gate box.
The 7½” Reabe Smart Gate design is the logical extension of the FAA STC certified 5” Reabe Smart Gate, which possesses notable reliability and safety standards. Safety is paramount to Reabe AI which makes mechanical redundancy a key feature of the Reabe Smart Gate. The system allows the lever and all mechanical linkages to remain entirely intact as a secondary system, so the gate may be manually operated by the pilot at any time during flight. The primary purpose of the mechanical redundancy is that it provides an added emergency feature, and ensures that the aircraft can always work on dry application even if a system error occurs. It also provides the benefit of being able to close the gate manually, in flight, after an emergency dump.
