ALLEGAN COUNTY, Mich. — The Allegan County Health Department confirmed a deer tested positive for Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) on Saturday, adding an additional area in the county that will receive aerial spraying.
Health officials said this is the first confirmed case of EEE in an animal or human in Allegan County.
As of Saturday, Sept. 28, 2019, two areas within the county are scheduled to be sprayed. They include the South East area of Trowbridge Township (where the confirmed deer was found) and South East area of Gun Plain Township (within a 2.5 mile radius of a confirmed deer in Barry County).
