Here’s one from the “Only in Louisiana” file: In efforts of blessing crops and fields, a crop duster sprayed Holy Water over Cow Island, Louisiana.

The idea came from LeRryn Detraz, who is a native of Cow Island and currently serving as a missionary in Ohio. She is in Cow Island for the holidays, visiting with family and friends.

“Blessings” are nothing new to South Louisiana, being a very Catholic area: Blessing of the Pets, Blessing of the Fleet, Blessing of the Bikes – there’s loads of blessings happening here!
