China Performs Aerial Pesticide Application Experiments

http://news.agropages.com/News/NewsDetail---27305.htm

In order to regulate the operation of aerial pesticide application and enhance the effect of crop protection products, from June to August 2018, the China National Agro-Tech Extension and Service Center has allied with various aerial crop protection-oriented business entities to conduct a series of aerial pesticide application experiments in the rice and corn demonstration areas for the control of insect pests and diseases.

The performing of the experiments was announced by China Aerial Crop Protection Innovation Alliance to agricultural drone manufacturers, pesticide and adjuvant production enterprises, such that these business enterprises could make their choices in terms of crops and locations for experimentation. Trials are being conducted on 500Mu of cropland, using different technical specs of agricultural drones, matching different pesticide formulations and adjuvants so as to determine optimized combinations.

Via the joint experiment, a large amount of field data will be made available. Then, an optimized aerial application combination process will be worked out, based on the best match between the agricultural drone and pesticide formulations or adjuvants. The application of these experimental results will be of great value to the regulation of the business development of aerial crop protection and promotion of innovation of aerial crop protection.

The joint experimentation saw the participation of research institutions such as the Institute of Plant Protection of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, South China Agricultural University and China Aerial Crop Protection Innovation Alliance; agricultural drone manufacturers such as Anyang Quanfeng, Shenzhen Gaoke Xinnong, Beijing TT Aviation Technology, Guangzhou XAG, Beijing Viga and Shenzhen DJI; pesticide enterprises including Hebei Veyong, Syngenta, Bayer, FMC, Jiangmen Crop Protection, Guilin Jiqi, Nanjing Scienx, Guangxi Tianyuan, Anyang Quanfeng Biological and Jiangsu Rotam; and adjuvant producers including Beijing Grand AgroChem, Hebei Mingshun, Anyang Quanfeng, Guangxi Tianyuan, Bayer, Momentive Agriculture, Guilin Jiqi and Solvay.
