One day spent with crop duster pilot Gary Jerger of rural Clay County, you quickly find out there is a reason he’s been flying the “600-horse beasts” for a half century.
Jerger lives a pilot’s dream; at his hangar north of Dilworth, he gets ready for another day of crop spraying. In 2024, he’s celebrating his 50th year doing it.
